How it works
Commissioning bespoke furniture is an exciting process, but it can be daunting. We like to keep it enjoyable and the communication easy and clear.
We understand your home is your haven and your time is precious so everything we do is with that in mind.
Below you’ll find a description of the steps in our commissioning process, followed by some answers to frequently asked questions. But remember you can always contact us!
Step 1 - Get in touch! Drop us an email or a call to tell us what you’re thinking.
I’ll likely ask for pictures of your space and if you have any existing furniture or colour schemes you like. If you’re not sure what you want that’s great too, thats what the design process if for!
We will give a price indication and a approximate timeline based on the scope of the project.
Step 2 - Design
We’ll get back to you with some ideas and images to start the design process.
Using your feedback we will start to look at options and make some computer rendered images to help you visualise the design.
We will likely send you samples of wood finishes based on your likes.
Once we are on the right tracks we would arrange a site visit to take detailed measurements.
From there we will tailor the design until you’re happy its exactly what you want.
Step 3 - Making!
We will send regular updates so you can see the progress and the design coming to life
Step 4 - Delivery and installation
We understand that your home is your space and we work around your schedule to install the work.
Frequently asked questions
How long will it take?
Each project is unique and the scope of the work determines the timeline.
With over 10 years experience in all things wood and making, from the initial conversation I’ll be able to give you an approximate timeline. Small projects can be approximately 6 weeks to prepare. Large kitchen projects can be 16 weeks. But it’s always best to get in touch so if you have a deadline let us know. We like to prepare as much as possible in the workshop and will keep installation timelines to the minimum possible.
Do you have a minimum order?
No project too big or too small! If it’s quick and easy thats great. If its difficult and challenging even better, we always like a challenge and an opportunity to showcase our skills
What area do you cover?
Mainly we work in London and the south of England, but we are always willing to travel for large projects
Is custom furniture more expensive?
Inevitably it is slightly more expensive. It is handmade by skilled people. We do always strive to be competitive and can work to a budget. However you don’t have to compromise your aesthetic and it will help use the whole of your space efficiently. Do get in touch and we are always happy to give you a price indication for your project.
